AmeriNZ 87 – On a non-knife edge

Episode 87 is now available, and it's free no matter where you get it from. You can listen to it or download it through the player at the bottom of the post here, or subscribe for free through iTunes here (you must have the free iTunes player installed). You can also listen to it for free through the player on my MySpace page.

I start today with some important updates on access to my podcast. There will be a new site and a new feed, but you don’t need to do anything yet. I’ll give you plenty of warning before change is needed.

Then I give you some updates on topics from earlier episodes.

I share a couple news items: Another Bush-Cheney official, an anti-gay ideologue, is facing criminal investigation. Also, an Australian survey has found that men in that country are changing—becoming “pansies” as one Aussie moron put it.

In honour of New Zealand Music Month, my outtro today is “Queen of a World” by NZ performer Monique Rhodes from the Podsafe Music Network on music.podshow.com. Complete links are on my shownotes.

Leave a comment. Or, you can ring my US listener line on 206-339-8413. Email me (won’t be read on the podcast) at arthur{at)amerinz.com. You can also still use my other address, amerinz[at) yahoo.com.

Running time: 34:31 (31.7 MB)

windfall profits=yes (which is something, I believe, Clinton wants in exchange for the tax relief at the pump).
Here's the odd thing about oil companies: for all its importance, our government always acts as if there's nothing they can do. So untrue. Our utilities are regulated and must undergo periodic rate cases to change the fees they charge customers. The government has created an agency specifically to deal with them.
Why is oil so exempt?

OMG! Not only do I know how to do, but I have actually done everything on that list except clean a bolt action rifle, how much of a bloke does that make me?

Good luck with the eye surgery!! Keep us posted how it goes.

I wish I had an idea for you for the hosting issues. That sucks. I hope it all works out. I'll follow your feed wherever it ends up.

Sounds like Metrosexuality is finally making it's way down under. hehehe

Interesting that you are switching to godaddy. That's who I use, and I wondered if I should switch. I'll be interested in hearing what you think about it. Especially, if you use the quick blogcast software like I do.

I hope that your issues with posting your show get resolved soon and I have to say that I have been happy with libsyn with little problems with them.

I am glad your eyes are doing well after the surgery -I love it and wish I could have had it done when I was younger - love being without the glasses. I find it amazing that people these days who have no need to get them buy them so they can look good. Makes no sense to me. The other day I was looking to buy a pair of sunglasses and this woman was buying glasses like she would buy shoes and wanted to have wacky designs on them. This wacky world we live in!

Thanks for the shout out about the mini marathon - I really love the entire experience of doing the race with over 34,9999 others and with over 80,000 people watching and with over 4,000 volunteers!

I enjoy your so much and can't wait for your next show! :)

Southern Boy: They're exempt because, as you know, the Bush-Cheney regime is made up of oil industry people. That, and they have contempt for government using regulation on behalf of the people.

David b: Pretty blokey, actually. But don't worry: It'll be our little secret!

Archerr: Thanks for the good wishes. More details on the new feed will be coming soon. "Metrosexuals" here are made fun of, too, like in the US.

Wes: So far, so good with GoDaddy, apart from slow uploads, which may have more to do with our side of the tubes. The test will come once I start posting episodes.

Tom: I'm confident about the hosting being resolved soon.

Yeah, I kinda wish I'd had it done earlier, too, but I'm glad I did it now. I'll still need reading glasses, but I can deal with that.
