Today is Women's Suffrage Day, commemorating the date—September 19, 1893—when New Zealand became the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote. There's so much work yet to be done to ensure equality for women, but it's good to take time to stop and remember successes, and the point at which the real work could begin.

Yes! She is on our $10 note, which is one of the two most-used (the other, the $20, has the queen).
