He may have been a bit too glib to be a monarch—a certain gravitas goes with the role, but still. The benefit of a monarch is that they're above politics, but the same thing can be achieved with a parliamentary system. Only trouble is, the head of state in that sort of system doesn't get to wear all the fancy jewels… ;-)

I've long thought that the US needed a monarch. I thought Ronald Reagan, for one, would have been good at it.
