Messages for Arizona

Last night, I started a post on Arizona’s just-passed anti-gay law. It was quite angry, so I decided to put it aside—for now. Today I’m going to a family party and don’t have time to work on it, so, in the meantime, here are three awesome images from the Memeograph Faceook page.

I'll return to this topic, however.

Yeah, KS has one being considered. And I HATE the "religious" aspect of these...

The one in Kansas is stalled for now, but if Brewer signs the Arizona bill into law, there will be enormous pressure on the Republican leaders who control the KS Senate to pass their bill. It's an election year, so I bet their strength will waiver and it'll go to the KS Senate where it will be passed.

The religious aspect of these hate bills is, of course, nothing but a cynical ploy by the far right—merely a way to "justify" their discrimination against LGBT people. Real Christians (which the backers of these bills clearly are not) have every right to be outraged at what rightwing extremists are doing in their name.

Jan Brewer has until Friday to sign or veto. She's in DC at some conference (GP governors?). As I've noted, it's so broad, it would allow people to discriminate because of their Muslim faith, which was NOT the intent. .

Pretty much exactly the opposite of their intent, I'd say.
