Back in September 2009, one of my Facebook (and real life) friends tagged me in a Facebook meme called “Honest Answers”, and I only did it because he’s one of my very most favouritist people. As it happens, it’s pretty benign as memes go, but my answers painted a sort of picture of me when I’m in a playful mood.
However, I’d forgotten all about doing it until I was trolling around my Facebook page and found it tucked away in some obscure corner. I decided to share it here, partly because most of it is still current.
However, as is my usual practice, I’m not tagging anyone; if you want to do the meme, by all means do so, but don’t feel obligated. If you do the meme, however, put a link to your post in the comments to this one so I can see your answers.
So, here we go, back to 2009, with the original Facebook-centric instructions included:
You've been tagged, so answer all the questions HONESTLY. At the end, choose at least 8 people to be tagged. Don't forget to tag me!There you go. That’s been my flashback to 2009. You’re welcome.
To do this, copy this entire message, then go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, delete my answers, and type yours.
Next, tag people (in the right hand corner of the app). Click publish (at the bottom). Have fun! :)
1. What was the last thing you put in your mouth?
Wine
2. Where was your profile picture taken?
In my office. [Edit: that's still true, and it may be the same photo now; even if it's not, it could've been taken the same year as the photo I used in 2009]
3. Can you play Guitar Hero?
What's that? No, but I did Rock Band (badly) once—I got a blister.
4. Name someone who made you laugh today?
Fairy Princess Holly.
5. How late did you stay up last night and why?
About midnight cuz I was editing a podcast.
6. If you could move somewhere else, would you?
Seriously? Okay, maybe somewhere with a sea view, but otherwise, no.
8. Which of your friends lives closest to you?
Probably my sister-in-law.
9. Do you believe ex's can be friends?
Yes, if they choose to be (BTW, the plural of "ex" is "exes"; ex's means something belonging to an ex—pedantic, that's how *I* roll)
10. How do you feel about Dr Pepper?
I can barely remember it (hard to come by in these parts, but I do like it)
11. When was the last time you cried really hard?
I can't remember—a long time.
12. Who took your profile picture?
me
13. Who was the last person you took a picture with?
Probably Nigel—I don't pose very often
14. Was yesterday better than today?
'bout the same, actually.
15. Can you live a day without TV?
Yes.
16. Are you upset about anything?
No.
17. Do you think relationships are ever really worth it?
More than worth it.
18. Are you a bad influence?
Doubt I ever was. [Edit: the friend who tagged me on Facebook had a somewhat different view on this than I did…]
19. Night out or night in?
Probably a night in.
20. What items could you not go without during the day?
water, food, clean toilet
21. Who was the last person you visited in the hospital?
A sister-in-law
22. What does the last text message in your inbox say?
Letting me know a bakery order is ready to pick up.
23. How do you feel about your life right now?
It's fantastic.
24. Do you hate anyone?
Not literally—figuratively, maybe.
25. If we were to look in your facebook inbox, what would we find?
Messages, mostly from podcasters. [edit: not so much anymore—I mostly interact with people I know in real life, plus some others outside of podcasting]
26. Say you were given a drug test right now, would you pass?
Of course.
27. Has anyone ever called you perfect before?]
Not unless they're seriously deluded, but I don't think so, no.
28. What song is stuck in your head?
"What's Up" 4 Non Blondes (it came up today on iTunes' shuffle).
29. Someone knocks on your window at 2:00 a.m., who do you want it to be?
The Lotto Commission telling us we're the biggest-ever winners.
30.Wanna have grandkids before you’re 50?
Too late. And kinda hard to be a grandparent when you have no kids…
31. Name something you have to do tomorrow?
Pull some weeds, get something for dinner. [Edit: and, some things DON’T change…]
32. Do you think too much or too little?
Too much. Definitely. No, wait, I think that maybe I do sometimes, but other times maybe it's just the right amount. I suppose still other times it's not enough, but it's hard to tell sometimes, you know? And then there are the times I'm thinking, but, like, I totally don't KNOW that I'm thinking because I think I'm busy with something else. Maybe I should just think sometimes and not think about thinking. I think (heheheheh).
33. Do you smile a lot?
Absolutely.
