AmeriNZ #32 – More Expats

Episode 32 is now available, and it's free no matter where you get it from. You can listen to it or download it through the player at the bottom of the post here, or subscribe for free through iTunes here (you must have the free iTunes player installed). You can also listen to it for free through the player on my MySpace page.

After a journey through comments, it’s today’s Tuesday Talk segment. Today’s guests are Dawn and Darren, an American Expat couple in
Wellington. We had a lot of Skype problems, but persevered. I tried to fix some of it in the editing.

What made them move to
New Zealand? What do they miss about America? What couldn’t they do without from New Zealand? They share some of their observations about New Zealand, Wellington, music, food, rugby and more. Will they stay in New Zealand permanently?

Dawn and Darren’s blog is called Kia Ora…Bitches!

Opening music segment—from the appropriately named song “Moving to
New Zealand”—is by Spring Heeled Jacks Original Swinging Jass Band from the Podsafe Music Network. The entire song in on Episode 23.

Yikes! Well aren't I chatty? ;) Sorry I cut you off so many times..I completely blame Skype!

Thanks for having us on - we (clearly) love talking about moving to this incredible country and how much better our lives are here.

You didn't cut me off—it was Skype. There were actually a couple points where the delay was far worse, but I edited those out.

Thanks for being on! We'll have to do it again—minus the Skype problems, of course!

Don't you hate when Skype screws up? It's funny how great the connection is when you join my group shows but you can't get a good connection in your own country! That sucks!

Fun learning about Dawn and Darren and their move to NZ. Again, it makes me want to move there!

I was thinking the same thing--I can use Skype to talk to the US easier than the capital of New Zealand. I think it wasn't all about the connection, though, and that there were a few issues going on. I'll work on resolving them for the future.

There's plenty of room in NZ for you and the BF, Archerr!
