KFC has announced that they’re going to eliminate partially hydrogenated soybean oil in order to reduce trans fats from their, um, food. That’s good news. But, it turns out they’re replacing it with genetically modified soybean oil. More natural (or at least more ordinary) alternatives like canola oil apparently produced a product that wasn’t “finger lickin’ good.” Yes, well, I think I’ll keep my fingers clean in other ways. I’m just not too sure about these “frankenfoods”. As the margarine commercial from my childhood used to say, “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.”
