AmeriNZ 85 - Caveman talk

Episode 85 is now available, and it's free no matter where you get it from. You can listen to it or download it through the player at the bottom of the post here, or subscribe for free through iTunes here (you must have the free iTunes player installed). You can also listen to it for free through the player on my MySpace page.

Today I tell you about an iconic Kiwi company that’s decided to ditch New Zealand for Asia. Then, underwear boy may be heading for France. Did cavemen say, “G’day mate?” The ANZAC Day Public Holiday is a week from today, and I may not be posting an episode that day. So, I may only have one episode next week.

Slap Upside The Head just celebrated a birthday—congratulations! Then, I tell you the truth about iTunes reviews. I mention a few emails, then go on to comments.

My outtro today is “Bearing Witness” by Kiwi performer Monique Rhodes from the Podsafe Music Network on music.podshow.com (complete links below).

Leave a comment. Or, you can ring my US listener line on 206-339-8413. Email me (won’t be read on the podcast) at arthur{at)amerinz.com. You can also still use my other address, amerinz[at) yahoo.com.

Running time: 32:15 (29.7 MB)

Interesting discussion about iTunes and how we live for the reviews. While I love getting the reviews, I try not to ask for them. I hardly ever check to see what's on my page there and I don't really care to tell you the truth. I just like podcasting and if a few people are listening, then great. If not, that's fine too. I podcast for myself mostly anyway. I think we need to let the whole iTunes review thing go and get on to creating content people enjoy listening to.

Sorry to go on like that. Love ya! :)

I love your blog - you are the wise voice of podcasting and it is always a pleasure to listen to you. I am always learning quite a lot and it is fun. Great work!
I allowed myself to put a link to you onto my little site. I hope you won't mind

Annoying. After the iTunes download failed the first time, I went to your site to play it directly this time when it cut out about halfway through. Then the iTunes loaded, but only 17:42 of the 32:15. Did I mention that it's annoying.

Archerr: Go on all you like--that's what the comments section's for!

I couldn't agree with you more. The three most important things on a podcast (or blog or any other form of media) are content, content and content. That's why other people go for the media in the first place.

But I also agree that in the personal journal genre of podcasts, podcasting for oneself is important because it allows you to stay true to yourself, and that's probably what drew listeners in the first place.

Kim! Of course I don't mind! I think the badge you created is really cute, too--apart form that funny looking guy on it, but never mind that. ;-) I've added a link to you on my blog.

Roger: As you know, I was having the same problems, but they same to have cleared. I've since had the problem with other podcasts on different hosts, though, so there may be an issue with iTunes itself. I wonder if anyone else has had any problems accessing my episodes.

All the podcasts I access are via iTunes, and yours are the only ones that are so hiccupy for me.

I can't imagine what's going on, which is a real problem because it means I'm not sure how to fix it, or even if I can. More research is required!
